Materuni Village and Moshi Experience.
Tour Overview
Materuni Village is located 15 km up the mountain from Moshi town and is a wonderful
and simple day trip that offers a great mix of nature, culture, and local
experiences.
Start your excursion with a scenic hike to the majestic
Materuni Waterfall. The hike is moderate, covering approximately 6 km round trip
with a total 300-meter incline. Along the way, you'll pass through lush forests,
walk alongside a beautiful river, and see many village shambas (farms) growing
bananas, coffee, avocados, and more. You’re likely to meet friendly locals and even
spot a few chameleons on your journey.
Upon reaching Materuni Waterfall,
take time to soak in its natural beauty—capture stunning photos or take a refreshing
swim if you wish.
Next, visit a scenic local coffee farm, where you’ll
learn how to brew coffee the traditional way, from bean to cup. Enjoy the fresh
aroma of locally roasted coffee while immersing yourself in local Chagga culture
through music and dance. A delicious traditional Chagga lunch will be served to
complete your experience.
We believe that visiting Tanzania is a
once-in-a-lifetime experience, made even more memorable when travelers explore not
only its incredible wildlife but also its rich culture, warm people, and fascinating
history. Engage with local communities through conversation, guided walks, and
hands-on participation in daily activities for a truly immersive experience.
