Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, our professional team will be waiting to greet you and provide a warm Tanzanian welcome. You’ll be transferred to your hotel in Arusha or Moshi, where you’ll have time to relax and recover from your flight. Later in the day, your experienced mountain guide will conduct a detailed briefing to prepare you for your Kilimanjaro trek starting the next morning.

Accommodation: Silent Lodge

After breakfast, depart from your hotel and drive to the Machame Gate for registration. Once everything is ready, you begin your ascent through lush rainforest terrain, rich with moss, ferns, and towering fig trees. The trail is alive with birdsong and, if lucky, sightings of black-and-white colobus monkeys. You’ll arrive at Machame Camp by late afternoon where your porters will have already set up your tents. Relax, enjoy a hot meal, and soak in the atmosphere of the mountain.

〽 Elevation: 1,800m to 3,000m | Distance: ~11km | Hiking Time: 6–7 hours

Accommodation: Machame Camp

Today, the forest gives way to moorland. The trail climbs steadily, revealing panoramic views of Kibo and the plains far below. The path is dotted with unique high-altitude flora like Senecio kilimanjari and Lobelia deckenii. You’ll break for lunch along the trail and continue on to Shira Plateau—an ancient volcanic caldera—before reaching Shira Camp. Optional evening acclimatization walks offer added altitude adjustment.

〽 Elevation: 3,000m to 3,840m | Distance: ~5km | Hiking Time: 6–8 hours

Accommodation: Shira Camp

This day is all about acclimatization. You ascend to the striking Lava Tower (4,530m), where you'll pause for lunch and take in dramatic alpine scenery. From there, descend into the scenic Barranco Valley. Although you’ll end the day at only slightly higher elevation than where you started, your body will have benefited from the higher climb. Enjoy dinner with incredible views of the Barranco Wall towering nearby.

〽 Elevation: 3,840m to 3,950m (via 4,530m) | Distance: ~10km | Hiking Time: 6–8 hours

Accommodation: Barranco Camp

Start the day with a thrilling climb up the Barranco Wall, a challenging but non-technical scramble that rewards you with breathtaking views at the top. Traverse the alpine ridges and descend into the Karanga Valley before making the final short climb to camp. The rest of the afternoon is for resting, short walks, and preparing for your summit push.

〽 Elevation: 3,950m to 4,200m | Distance: ~7km | Hiking Time: 3–5 hours

Accommodation: Karanga Camp

Today is a short trek through rocky and barren alpine desert. You'll pass glaciers and dramatic volcanic landscapes en route to Barafu Camp—your base for summit night. After an early dinner and rest, you'll go to bed by 7pm to catch a few hours of sleep before the midnight summit attempt.

〽 Elevation: 4,200m to 4,600m | Distance: ~6km | Hiking Time: 3–5 hours

Accommodation: Barafu Camp

Your toughest and most rewarding day begins at midnight. Trek through the darkness, guided by your headlamp and the stars above, making your way to Stella Point for sunrise. With a final push, reach Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. Celebrate your achievement with photos and panoramic views before descending back to Barafu Camp for brunch. After a rest, continue your descent to Mweka Camp for a well-earned night's sleep.

〽 Elevation: 4,600m to 5,895m (Uhuru), down to 3,100m | Distance: ~17km | Hiking Time: 12–15 hours

Accommodation: Mweka Camp

The final descent takes you through lush rainforest, echoing with birdsong and alive with nature. At Mweka Gate, you’ll receive your summit certificate before returning to Arusha for a hot shower, warm bed, and celebration dinner.

〽 Elevation: 3,100m to 1,500m | Distance: ~10km | Hiking Time: 4 hours

Accommodation: Kerama Silent Lodge or similar

After breakfast, begin your safari with a scenic drive to Tarangire National Park. Known for its majestic baobabs and massive elephant herds, the park is also home to lions, giraffes, zebras, and over 500 bird species. Enjoy a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch in the park, then proceed to Karatu for a relaxing evening.

Accommodation: Farm of Dreams Lodge or similar

After breakfast, drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to Serengeti, stopping at Olduvai Gorge, the cradle of humanity. Learn about early human evolution before entering Serengeti’s boundless savannahs. Spot wildlife en route and enjoy an afternoon game drive before reaching your camp.

Accommodation: Nyikani Central Serengeti or similar

Rise early to explore the wildlife-rich plains of central Serengeti. With your picnic lunch in hand, search for lions, cheetahs, elephants, and wildebeests. Your expert guide will lead you through hidden valleys and open plains, following wildlife activity to ensure the best sightings.

Accommodation: Nyikani or similar

Enjoy a final early game drive in Serengeti before returning to camp for brunch. On your way to Ngorongoro, stop at a traditional Maasai boma to learn about the customs and lifestyle of Tanzania’s iconic pastoralists. Continue to your lodge perched on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater.

Accommodation: Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge

Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for an unforgettable half-day game drive. Home to the Big Five—including the rare black rhino—the crater is a natural amphitheater teeming with wildlife. Enjoy lunch at a scenic picnic site before driving back to Arusha. Depending on your flight schedule, you’ll be transferred to the airport or overnight in Arusha.
