Upon arrival in Tanzania, you will be warmly greeted at Kilimanjaro Airport by a representative from Tanzania Tourist Safari's. From there, you’ll be transferred to your accommodation in Arusha, a vibrant city that serves as the gateway to northern Tanzania’s safari circuit. Depending on your arrival time, you’ll have the opportunity to relax and recover from your journey. Arusha is a bustling hub for safaris and offers a unique mix of urban energy and local culture, making it the perfect starting point for your adventure. Take some time to unwind, perhaps enjoying the beautiful surroundings of your lodge, or venture out to explore the city before settling in for the night.

Accommodation: Arusha Planet Lodge

After breakfast, your adventure begins in earnest as you depart Arusha for Tarangire National Park, renowned for its towering baobab trees and large elephant herds. The journey is approximately two-and-a-half hours on well-maintained roads, allowing for scenic views of Tanzania’s stunning landscapes. Upon arrival, you’ll embark on a thrilling game drive, where the park’s diverse wildlife, including giraffes, buffalo, zebras, and hartebeests, will be your companions. Predators such as lions and leopards are often spotted lurking in the distance. Tarangire is also a birdwatcher's paradise, home to over 500 bird species, making it an excellent spot for bird lovers. The park’s iconic baobab trees add an ancient and mystical atmosphere, and some are believed to be over 1,000 years old. During the midday heat, you’ll stop for a picnic lunch in one of the park’s designated areas, offering a chance to relax and soak in the surroundings. After a rewarding game drive, you’ll make your way to your overnight accommodation in Karatu, where you’ll unwind for the evening.

Accommodation: Eileen's Trees Inn

After breakfast, you’ll journey toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you’ll enjoy spectacular views of the Ngorongoro Crater before heading to a Maasai village. The Maasai people are known for their colorful clothing, intricate beadwork, and fascinating cultural practices. You’ll have the chance to interact with the locals, learn about their nomadic lifestyle, and enjoy traditional dances and songs that have been passed down for generations. This cultural experience will provide a deeper understanding of the Maasai’s close relationship with the land and wildlife.

From there, you’ll continue your journey to the southern part of Serengeti National Park, a region renowned for its vast open grasslands and abundant wildlife. Serengeti is one of the most famous wildlife destinations in the world, home to a rich array of animals and birds. Depending on the time of year, you may witness the spectacular Great Migration, as millions of wildebeest, zebras, and antelopes make their way across the plains in search of fresh grazing land. After a picnic lunch in the park, you’ll embark on a game drive before reaching your accommodation for a peaceful night in the heart of Serengeti National Park.

Accommodation: Embalakai Serengeti Camp

Today, you’ll have the opportunity to fully immerse yourself in the vast landscapes of Serengeti National Park, a paradise for wildlife enthusiasts. Depending on your preference, you can enjoy early morning or late afternoon game drives, or opt for a full day of exploration with a picnic lunch in the heart of the park. Serengeti offers endless opportunities to witness wildlife in action. Watch as herds of elephants roam the plains, or spot the agile cheetahs as they hunt their prey. You may even encounter lions resting under the shade of acacia trees or leopards hiding in the tall grass.

The Serengeti is also famous for its birdlife, and you might spot species like ostriches, secretary birds, and various types of eagles. The park’s vast, open savannahs create the perfect backdrop for unforgettable wildlife sightings. The whole day will be spent exploring the park’s diverse habitats, from the plains to the riverbanks, giving you the chance to see the full spectrum of Serengeti’s wildlife. As the day comes to a close, return to your luxury tented camp for a relaxing evening under the stars.

Accommodation: Embalakai Serengeti Camp

After an early breakfast, you’ll leave Serengeti behind and drive toward Ngorongoro Crater, one of the most unique ecosystems in Africa. The journey is scenic, with incredible views of the surrounding landscape as you ascend to the rim of the crater. Once you arrive, you’ll begin your descent into the crater floor, where wildlife roams freely in a landscape teeming with life. The Ngorongoro Crater is home to a rich diversity of animals, including the endangered black rhino, wildebeest, zebras, and a variety of bird species. It’s also a great place to spot the Big 5 (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino).

As you explore the crater, you’ll have the chance to see unique landscapes, including lush swamps, soda lakes, and acacia woodlands, creating a truly breathtaking setting for your safari. In the afternoon, you’ll drive to Karatu for an overnight stay, reflecting on the day’s unforgettable experiences.

On your final day, you’ll head to the remote Lake Eyasi, where you’ll meet two fascinating local tribes—the Hadzabe and the Datoga. The Hadzabe people are one of the last remaining hunter-gatherer tribes in Tanzania, and they continue to live much as their ancestors did. You’ll have the chance to witness their traditional hunting techniques, including the use of bows and arrows, and learn about their close connection to the land.

Next, you’ll visit the Datoga tribe, known for their skilled craftsmanship, especially in metalworking and bead-making. You’ll gain insight into their daily life and learn about their customs and traditions. After a fascinating cultural immersion, you’ll enjoy a guided nature walk around Lake Eyasi, taking in the stunning scenery and observing local wildlife.
